Chapin, S.C. - United Sporting Companies announced today a plan to consolidate its Dayton, Ohio distribution facility into its existing facility in Bellefontaine, OH.
The consolidation will reduce costs, increase efficiencies, and optimize the utilization of the Bellefontaine facility. The closure of the Dayton operation is expected to be complete by September 2018.
"As we look for ways to better serve our customers, we are committed to identifying cost savings opportunities and increasing efficiencies. The consolidation of these facilities is an outcome of these efforts," said United Sporting Companies Chairman and CEO Brad Johnson.
United Sporting Companies acquired the Dayton operation in November 2009 when the company purchased Jerry’s Sport Center. The facility is being absorbed into the recently acquired state-of-the-art Bellefontaine, OH distribution center.
